Electronic Nursing Information System (ENIS)

Vesta developed a system called eNIS for nursing department in TKOH using in operation theatre. With this software, nursing staff in operation theatre count surgery materials and equipment/tools without pain. More, the whole surgery can be recorded instantly in electronic documentation. Before this software, the whole operation workflow was done on hard-copy paper form in which many human error were found due to poor hand writing or missing records. Now with this eNIS software, the human error are greatly reduced and the documentation process has never been so fast ever since. Vesta is the pioneer in Hong Kong which no other hospitals in HK has ever developed such solution. And it is estimated all operation theatres in HK shall be deployed with eNIS in coming future.

The system is running in Linux and MYSQL with Joomla framework. Joomla framework is in PHP-based CMS from Open Source which can be the same functionality of WordPress. Nurses in TKOH operation theatre use this system with handheld devices (e.g. iPAD) for counting the surgery materials and equipment/tools. It also has a part for inter-operation reports together with Philips Healthcare proprietary system which needs to submit to Hospital Authority.

Besides, the whole system architecture was designed and well built by Vesta including hardware procurement, renovation, server setup and network engineering. Hence, Vesta is capable of handling a complete solution for both hardware and software.
